Okay so, we get it. Y'all hate empowerment, feminism AND women. This movie was extremely fun and very empowering for women and it had a great cast. Margot Robbie's character arc for Harley was beautiful and I loved her character in this much more than suicide squad. Cassandra Cain was interesting, I LOVED Black Canary and Huntress. Montoya wasn't my favorite personally but she was still interesting. McGregor was very good as black mask and honestly extremely funny. After seeing him in Doctor Sleep this was such a big jump and it was great. Overall, I loved this movie and I'd definitely give it a 9 or 10.

Harleys father got ripped off, only a 6 pack. 1:16 it's a reference to The New Batman Adventures. It was pretty funny! Quite predictable, as most movies of this genre are, but well put together. Pet rats are amazing sad they dont live long :C. I laughed so hard with she said you killed my sandwish 😂😂😂😂😂. I feel, that a lot of people misrepresenting the movie here in their reviews. Let's face it: Joker has been very well received from fans and it isn't close to the usual comic stories. Maybe part of the story is, but not the overall tone nor the premise.
However in "Birds of Prey" suddenly people are extremely concerned, that the material is not authentic? In what kind of twisted world are we living in, that a movie, which gives "girls power" is received so bad. br> But lets face it here. The issue of the movie isn't the political and sociological message. Its "just" the story and the context, logic itself.
It starts entertaining. A bit like a high school comedy - loads of exposure, but in a very funny (4th wall breaking way) Mayba a bit too much exposure, but ok.
The villain Black Mask lacks a bit motivation and background. First I thought, it isn't that bad, because overall Ewan McGregor is playing well. But given, that all "girls" get a mini-introduction, it would be adequate, to understand, at least why he "is" the Black Mask.
The action scenes are also very entertaining. However while it is understandable why Harley Quinn is so dominant in fights (craziness - acrobatic proficiency, educated in weaponry while her time with the Joker. as well as it makes sense for Huntress, it doesn't make any sense for the police officer and canary - who happens to be a singer with a "killer voice.
Let's also talk about ethics here: Joker got a lot of criticism, because the film highlighted violence. As the movie is almost a drama, I could not really understand this criticism, because it also had far less violence than any other action movies these days. Birds of Prey not only has far more violence - but also makes it "entertaining" and funny. While I am not so serious about it. people should finally be reasonable. Either way, they disprove violence (especially in movies, which have a message that violence is not "that bad. or agree to use violence as plot device. br> The point, where Birds of Prey really disappoints is the portrayal of the protagonists. It seems that the studio still didn't understood the appeal of some characters like Harley Quinn! They didn't learned this bit out of Suicide Squad: it is really not appealing to show the "good parts" of these characters. Let's face it: Harley is a serial killer who killed probably 100's if not 1000's of people, hurt a lot of people (inclusive innocents: think about blowing up a huge chemical factory. assaulted a police station. even though there is a sparkle of goodness in her - it doesn't really matter! It is her motives and her craziness which we are interested in!
Think Joker. The movie wasn't portraying the "hero" in him. It was rather showing his circumstances, his motives, his illness and personality. This made this movie so compelling.
I would really like to see, that we see a movie which shows the craziness (in an entertaining way) of Harley. I am not interested in her good deeds. I am interested, in her madness! I am interested how she deals with her remorses (or how she doesn't deal with her remorses.
Oh - and then there is the logic, which doesn't end up. We are in Gotham, where a police department is assaulted, where the chemical plant is attacked, where hundreds of mobsters are killed or are mobilized - but there is non sign of Batman - or the Joker (Harley made definitely enough noise that he would pay attention. That seems just odd and out of place.
So no - the movie isn't that bad. Or not that good either. I like the overall idea, to show that girls can rule - but why not also show. that woman can be seriously bad (and mad.

Harley Quinn is my favorite bad guy I was her for Halloween. When I heard Black Betty i was like: Hold up, wrong universe. This is my new favorite movie. Margot is a gorgeous, incredibly talented actress, who really enveloped herself in the role of Harleen/Harley. The movies were not great, but she owned both films by playing Harley perfectly, I look forward to seeing the future of Harley Quinn in the DCEU, with Margot. I love this movie 😍. Tha muvi is cul :v.
